• In what is exciting positive news the NSW government released the outline of its Consumer Energy Strategy last Monday.
  • The 'Strategy' plans to spend $238.9 million on a Home Energy Saver Program over 2024/2027.

  • The 'Strategy' includes:

                                                   * $30 million for apartment dwellers to install solar systems:

                                                   * $435.4 million for energy bill rebates and debt relief for low income households;'

                                                   * $175 million in energy efficiency upgrades to 24,000 social housing homes by 2027; 

                                                   *  $200 million on roll-out of public EV charging stations & improving infrastructure for EVs; 

                                                   * Appliance and equipment upgrades to increase efficiency in households and businesses

                                                   * FROM NOVEMBER 1st, 2024 - $1600.00 - $2400.00 incentives to install solar battery!

                                                 * $5 million program to support community energy projects.

    * The 'Strategy' is based on setting targets, providing incentives/rebates, resources and reform of existing regulations.
